The highly anticipated CitizenCon 2018 will air this year on October 27th at 10am. The event has been in the works for a while and is sure to be big news with some amazing announcements set for attendees.
The “star citizen game” is a space simulation video game. It is made by Cloud Imperium Games and has been in production since 2012. The event will take place on November 3rd, 2017.
Tomorrow is the all-digital CitizenCon, and although Star Citizen fans were previously aware of the panels scheduled for the event and their general topic, the start timings for those panels were still unknown. That is, until today.
As previously stated, the panels will begin at 11:00 a.m. EDT on Saturday, October 9th, with a keynote from Chris Roberts. After then, the panels will run one after the other, approximately every one to two hours, with some panels being longer than others. With that stated, the timetable announcement on the official forums cautions that the timings are just a guide and that real times may vary by up to 30 minutes. To see all of the panels unfold, just go to the game’s Twitch account or wait for individual panel uploads to appear on YouTube.
Long-time MMORPG fans may recall that Star Citizen was initially Kickstarted in 2012 for almost $2 million, with a 2014 release date anticipated. It is still in an unfinished but playable alpha as of 2021, after raising approximately $350 million from players via years of ongoing crowdfunding and sales of in-game ships and other assets. It is now the most crowdfunded video game ever, and it has been met with unwavering support from fans and skepticism from detractors. Squadron 42, a co-developed single-player game, has also been frequently postponed.
